Members are expected to be stewards of the environment and fishery and to appreciate and have utmost respect for the Lake Ontario Tributary fish they pursue, the state land they fish on, their co-anglers, and private property owners. This would include:
a. No Littering
b. No wadding on visible spawning redds.
c. No damage to riparian habitat.
d. No purposeful disturbing of the natural stream bed of any Lake Ontario Tributary
unless associated with an approved L.O.T.A.C / DEC improvement project.
e. No wanton waste of any fish species such as keeping a fish only for its eggs and
disregarding its meat and carcass. Said meat should at least be donated (given) to friends
and not simply thrown in the trash.
f. If practicing catch and release then fish should be released UNHARMED and proper revival
techniques used to increase likelihood of ongoing survival to be caught and played again.
Suggestions and instructions for proper revival techniques and fish handling will be
emphasized and documented on the developing LOTAC website.
g. Anglers will not harass, corral or torment purposefully any fish swimming in a
Lake Ontario Tributary.
h. If LOTAC receives multiple complaints regarding specific members by other members,
then the LOTAC Board of Directors reserves the right to dismiss member status and
therefore benefits of said individuals.
